Marack

With a rare case of red skin pigmentation among his kind, Marack grew up as an outcast. Other dun kids his age picked on him--at least, until Marack began to fight back. Soon enough, he had gotten into enough fights to prevent others from picking on him. Unfortunately, physical confrontations weren’t the only way he was bullied. Children and adults alike spread word about his violent tendencies, isolating Marack further from others, including his own parents.

Eventually Marack was fed up and left his home of Korlock and traveled across Legere for something else. He arrived at Corgath, hearing news that there were gladiator pits opening up nearby, and not knowing what else to do, he joined them. He quickly rose in fame, as a red dun was a sight to behold. Soon gladiatorial pits far and wide knew Marack’s name and face… and fists. Marack revelled in his fame and newly found fortune, enjoying the change of how others perceived him. He was no longer a freak, but an iconic figure.

Eventually, Marack would return home, flaunting his success and quickly gaining favour with his former bullies. Marack knew the friendships he was forming there were nothing but shallow, greedy folks who wanted to gobble up his coin. Marack found his own people despicable, and moved to Destral, which was on the rise due to the exploitation of Ancient technology.

Ladodon, Archoth and Elementum Kazakk Glaspur found Marack at The Dancing Dragon Inn while he was visiting the Nameless Town's fighting pits. After a brief bout of fisticuffs, the Archangel’s Heroes convinced the dun to join them.

Physical Description #

Marack was born with a rare dun trait--that being, skin colour other than the usual green. This genetic defect was harmless, but stigmatized in dun communities.

Marack kept his horns short to prevent them from being used against him in brawls.

Marack had an imposing build thanks to years of physical training and a protein-rich diet. His body was covered in a multitude of scars acquired from his fighting career.

Notable Skills #

Marack had fast reflexes, excellent coordination, and incredible strength. His knowledge of a multitude of martial arts allowed him to dominate in unarmed fights. Marack also possessed an exceptionally good memory, which he developed by attempting to detect patterns in each of the opponents he fought.

Marack's "Renderers" #

While Marack began his fighting career as a bare-knuckle brawler, his ascension to the upper echelons of the bloodsport society led him to bouts against armed and armoured opponents. To bring himself up to their level, Marack created a set of spiked gloves, which he called his "Renderers".

Marack kept these gloves with him once he became a Hero of the Archangel, where they were put to use against all manner of evil foes.

Personality #

Marack knew that because of his build and skin colour, he was intimidating. He often used this to his advantage to get what he--or the Archangel's Heroes--wanted.

Marack was emotional, and got angry very quickly. It was easy for him to become careless and sloppy when in fights, and he would often be quick to jump headfirst into a tavern brawl or other physical dispute, much to the dismay of Sir Ladodon.

Marack tried to hide it, but he greatly yearned for the approval and adoration of others.

Marack was known to despise the smell of pickles and brine.
